Grace found the old halloween candy one night, she opened all the suckers and decided it was pretty darn awesome! The fact that she thought she would get away with it was a little enduring. She danced triumphantly into the front room where I had been sewing. Boy was she disappointed when I took them back. (but not until I could get a picture of her triumph)
I should have known to unpack the books first. Instead I left them in a box on top of the dresser and she just had to get to them. She's a climber.
Uuhhhh, need I comment on this pic and the following one at all? Just too darn cute!

Make Over

I straightened Gracie's hair yesterday, it made her look older...I didn't like it.

Our Snow Day

I love being snowed in, while the snow blusters outside the window, we are cozy and busy inside. This is how our first snow day of the year went.We made cinnamon rolls, again. I'm practicing. Someday I want to be as good at making them as my Grandma Powell was.
We put up the tree and Christmas decorations.
I finally got around to doing a project I've been meaning to do for a VERY long time. I painted and antiqued these drawers.
And we had lots of snuggle time. Yes, we stayed in our pajamas all day and kept cozy. Deryk even had a snow day. You can't really make deliveries and sell appliances in the middle of a blizzard, so he got to hang with us at the end of our day.

All I have to say is, Yay for snow days!

Kitchen Aid Add

Grace is finally old enough to enjoy cooking with me. And believe me, we've been cooking a lot together lately (The colder weather keeps us inside and cooking gives us something to do). We've made scones, many batches of cookies, and cinnamon rolls. I promise, we share what we make, that is part of the fun of cooking together, letting Gracie decide who she wants to share it with. Sometimes she chooses the neighbors, sometimes one of my sisters families (to bad they don't live close enough), but most of the time she wants to share with "BradenSuziBrylee," Deryk's brother and his family who live right here in Logan, and yes, she rarely says their names separately. Sometimes the treats get to the respectively chosen people and sometimes they don't even make it past the cooling rack. But we sure are having fun cooking together!

I took some pictures the last time we made a batch of cookies together and I told Deryk they would make a good kitchen Aid add...maybe I should send them the pics and the idea...maybe.

Wow, she sure does make those cookies look extra enjoyable! Good down to the very last finger-scrumptious-lick!

Super Service Saturday!

My Relief Society (church group for women) decided to do a service Saturday this year instead of doing crafts and such for Super Saturday. I must say, it was a great idea and such a hit! We signed up to bring things like: rice, fabric, items for auction, gently used winter items to donate, or to do something like: sew rice bags, tie quilts, cut fabric, serve food, collect the donated items and deliver them, and so on. I signed up to sew the rice bags and donated fabric for them as well.

We also had a service auction. Okay, this was such an awesome idea. You bid with points and you earn these points through various things like: if you have taken a dinner to a family within the last month, taken treats to a friend, visit taught, served a mission ever, told members of your family that you love them, donated items to the auction of the service activity, volunteered at a school or soup kitchen and so on. You could bid on the items with the points you earned. The items were donated by anyone who wanted to get the points. There were free haircuts, afghans, blankets, home-made goods and canned items, promises of dinners, gift certificates, home decor, and tons of other stuff. It was so fun! I had 600 points to bid with and used them all to get a beautiful afghan for Seth.

So if anyone is on an activities committee or relief society, young women/men presidency you might want to try this...it was really a huge and fun success!

The beautiful Afghan. I outbid seven others for it. Actually, it came down to me and another girl, and she finally said I could have it because I had Seth with me. She said to consider it as a late baby shower gift...what a sweet heart. I wouldn't bid on anything else because I wanted the afghan so darn bad and wanted all my points to get it.

Seth loves it! See that smile, I think he's pleased. I sure am!

Haloween Weekend

Man, Halloween was crazy this year! A whole weekend of fun! Here's our Halloween in pictures.

Friday night we went to our ward carnival. It was lots of fun, especially for Gracie, who played every game and loved it!
Playing the cake walk. This was Grace's favorite game! She played over and over and over and...well you get the idea.
Monkey and it's banana! Thanks to Kacy and Josh for the costumes! (Deryk and I went as Aggie fans (USU fans for those of you who aren't familiar with the Aggies.)

This was Gracie's idea. She just had to put the little tutu on too. She danced real pretty for me too.

On Saturday we went to a carnival at Grace's cousin, Porter's school. It was pretty awesome. Tons of activities and things to do. We left part of the monkey costume home so she was the cutest hobo clown ever instead!

We also had a family party on Saturday and before the party my dad and brother took Gracie trick-or-treating (it was her first time going door to door). She was one of the only kids who knocked on Debbi's neighbor doors so they gave her a ton, I mean a TON, of booty!

I would say it was a great halloween this year!
