I'm sure all expecting women in their last weeks of pregnancy go through the stage of "will this baby EVER get here!?!?" and you can bet I'm feeling it! So you can imagine how excited I was when last Friday I woke up at 2am with contractions ( I never thought such discomfort would bring me happiness) I waited and waited. Finally at 8am Deryk and I decided to go to the hospital. We spent some time in the triage room hoping the contractions would result in delivery and end the long, anxious wait. After two hours of monitoring and more waiting I was given a few options, one of them was to go home and come back when the contractions got stronger, seeing as how the hospital really isn't the most comfortable place I decided to go home and wait it out. Sadly, after a few hours of sleep, the contractions had dissipated as well as all our hopes (and fears) of finally having our precious new addition to the family with us. So now it's been a week and still no baby--the P.A. was sure she would see us later that day...RIGHT! There is one thing we've found out about this baby--she's either going to be as patient and as easy going as Deryk with the no-need-to-rush-into-anything attitude. OR she's just as stubborn as I am and she'll get here when she darn well feels like it! Let's hope it's Deryk she's like! So, the wait goes on and we'll just try to keep smiling and laughing.
