Tagged

Ah man! I got tagged by Gail--something I was hoping would never happen to me! But since I admire Gail and just love her little guy, josiah, I'll be kind enough to respond to her tag. So...
The Rules:
1) Rattle off 6 quirks (you know things about yourself that others might find odd in some way)
2) Then tag 6 more blogs leaving links to their blogs
3) Leave comments on their blogs to let them know that you intend for them to follow suit!

Jeeze, i have so many quirks, all of which poor Deryk has to deal with daily! So where do I begin?

1) I hate mouth noises, smacking, eating with your mouth open, hearing the food swish around in your mouth when your eating it--you name it, if it has to do with a mouth noise--HATE IT

2) I am obsessive about where the silverwear goes in the drawer. Each utensil has a place and if Deryk acidentily swithces them around I can't help myself, I have to rearange.

3.) As an extension of number two, really I have a certain place for everything. When anything is out of place of where it should be it bothers me until I fix it.
That doesn't mean I fix it right away, sometimes I'll go for days with it botering me!
4.) I'm very traditional--I love to cary out family traditions, without them, a holiday just doesn't feel right.

5) I'm totally a last minute woman, so you would think it wouldn't really bother me if anyone else does anything last minute, but it really does--Just ask Deryk--nothing wories me more than when he is trying to get something done at the last minute.

6) Finally. I hate talking on the phone. So no matter how much I love and adore an old aquaintance trying to call me on the phone--chances are I won't call them back, but I will email them.

Okay, I'm supposed to tag six others, but I'm only going to tag 3 people and offer my appologies!
So I tag Rachel for getting me into this whole blogging mess in the first place.
Arwen beause she's a new blogger and this will introduce her to the blogging community very nicely.
And Sheena, because she never posts enough and because I spent 24 hours a day for three months with the woman and I'm curious to know what she'll put down as her quirks.
Have fun girls!!! :)

Out With The Old--In With The New--One Big Pain In The...

Deryk and I decided it was finally time to buy new furniture. The furniture we had was fine so it's not like we really needed it, but we decided it was something we were willing to invest in to increase the amount of credit we have. So we found a great sectional couch and a sofa chair at a liquidation sale. So naturally we had to move the old furniture out and move the new furniture in. Well to make this boring story short, the result of all the moving was a ride in an ambulance, lots of pain medication, muscle relaxers, antiflamitory meds, and one big pain in the lower back! Ya so, I hurt my back and it hurt so bad I couldn't move my legs or breath deep or anything. I was so affraid I had fractured my back (I have already fractured my back about 3 or 4 years ago and that didn't hurt near as bad as this pain). So, this last week I have become the ultimate deffinitio of a couch potato!!! On the bright side--I now know just how comfy our new couch is. Thanks to my sisters and mom for all the help and care!

A few of our favorite pics of Grace

The Office!

So Deryk and I are totally addicted to "The Office"! We dedicate a half hour each Thursday night to laughter and enjoyment, it's our stress relief, forget all the junk that makes life hard, laugh until you wet yourself, together time. Needless to say we are more than excited to watch tonights season premier. Would it be pathetic to say that I've been counting down the days for the last two weeks? Pathetic, I am, and glad to admit it. So for all you Office junkies (I know I am not alone, almost all my brothers and sisters are just as into it as I am--if not more) enjoy the new season of laughter, may you laugh till you drop and be sure to wear extra protection (depends underpants) in case you don't make it to the bathroom in time :).

She's Tired, He's Tired, We're All Exhausted. But Life has Never Been Better

So whenever Deryk or I talk to anyone and they ask us how things are going they always ask us if we are getting any sleep. Anyone who has ever had a new born baby in thier home knows sleep is a valuable commodity, a non-renewable resource, making it's way to the endangered species list! Although I miss a good night's rest, which I haven't really had the opportunity to enjoy for the last 4 months--who can really get a good nights rest with an 8 pound baby sitting on your bladder? I must confess, despite the drought of sleep, life has never been better! We love our little Grace. She is worth the many hours of longed-for sleep. We really enjoy the simple, sweet moments having a baby in the home has brought us. We realize what a gift our Grace is, and how lucky we are to be given the opportunity to be parents. SO whenever I yearn for a full night's rest or feel as though I'm going to go absolutely insane if Grace continues to cry for even a second longer, I remind myself about all the sweet and tender moments she has already been a part of and how she has brought our little family closer together.

Getting to Know her Cousins

The other day, Grace and I ran a few errands before Rachel brought her kids over (I still watch them in the afternoons). Grace fell asleep in the car--thank goodness--so I left her in the car seat to sleep. Grace awoke to the curious faces of her cousins. Grace stared back happily. I think they'll get along very well! I just had to take a picture of the cute scene and share it with you and thank the Horton kids for helping me keep Grace happy and tear free for a short time!

National Grandparents Day

Did you know that Sunday, September 7th was national grandparents day? Well, neither did I until we were invited to go see Deryk's Grandpa Beyler who stays in a very nice rest home in Burley. The rest home put on a neat little picnic-pot-luck for the families of the residence (we were very impressed with the facilities and staff). So, we made the hour trip to Burley and had the opportunity to enjoy a very nice afternoon with family and introduce Grace to her Great Grandpa Beyler. Of course it was a great photo-op so we'll share the pictures with you.

A Shout out to Gail and the Lampers family

So Gail, you asked if Grace cries a lot?
Well here's your answer!

We've tried her "tricked out" new swing with all the bells and whistle to soothe a fussy baby...

Doesn't work.

We've tried her cool bouncing-vibrating chair that my sisters swear by...Doesn't work.

We even tried putting her in her car seat and sitting it on top of a running dryer...
And Still she cries.

So what DOES work you might ask?
Driving her around for miles. Thank goodness the gas prices have dropped recently, tho it still costs a fortune to keep our Gracey happy.

So the cheeper alternative...
Pacing for hours...
And finally a moments peace!

On the bright side, I might just shed those many unwanted pounds :)

Got to Get Out!!!

After almost three weeks of being pent-up in the house, with one or two outings to the doctor's office and such appointments, I couldn't handle it any longer! So, we decided it was time to free ourselves from lock down and go for a nice walk all together as a family. So for a short time we were a very happy and content family;
Grace stopped crying,
I stopped complaining about being stuck inside all day,
and Deryk got to enjoy the tranquility of it all--even if it was short lived.

Our Obsession

So Grace is now two weeks old! Oh ya, did we mention she was born on our one year anniversary? Happy anniversary honey! We'll celebrate when things calm down a bit around here--I'm beinning to wonder if it ever will. Anyway, the last two weeks has been quite an experience, and as you can imagine we just can't get enough of our little Gracey. The camera has been used more in the last two weeks than it had ever been used in our first year of marriage! We just think everything Grace does is so darn cute and so special--no other kid can do what ours just did at her age ;) Needless to say, we've got like a thousand pictures and I want to share them all with you. We'll try to restrain ourselves and limit the amount of pictures we share and spare you the boredome of looking at someone elses child. Though we are sure everyone will think she's as cute and as perfect as we think she is--and if you don't, or you happen to think yours are cuter, keep it to yourself.
